The Municipality of Egedal has decided to strengthen the energy requirements for a new settlement to be erected in the municipality.
A large number of dwellings, a kindergarten and an activity centre for elderly people will be designed and constructed with a heating energy consumptions and an overall primary energy consumption better than what is required for a low energy class 1 building according to the Danish Building regulation BR08.
In addition 7 existing public buildings – 2schools and 5 institutions - will be energy renovated to the standard of new buildings according to BR08 and more than 500 kWp of solar cells will be installed on public buildings in Egedal.

The CLASS 1 project is an EU-supported project under the CONCERTO programme. A CONCERTO project combines:

• Energy savings and renewable energy
• Research, development and demonstration
• Participation from various countries
• Education and dissemination
